Privacy
What this website collects about you, and how CCA handles information from donors, applicants and participants.
This website
This website does not ask for personal information, and it does not use advertising or analytics trackers.
There are no forms on this site. Donations and enrollment applications go through separate services, which are covered below. Email links open your own email program, and we receive only what you choose to send us.
Everything these pages load, including fonts, styles and scripts, comes from CCA’s own services. Nothing is loaded from advertising, analytics or social media companies.
The company that hosts the site processes standard technical information about each visit, such as your IP address, so it can deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. It also sets a cookie called __cf_bm, which helps it tell people apart from automated traffic. The protection cannot work without it. It expires after 30 minutes without activity, and it is not used to follow you from one website to another.
Donations
When you give online, your card or bank details are typed into fields hosted by our payment provider, so they never pass through CCA’s systems. CCA stores invoice and payment status, receipts, the consent choices you make, and limited payment details such as the last four digits of a card.
The security and rate-limiting records kept by the donation service do not hold your IP address or email address. They hold a one-way code generated from each one instead.
The donation form also lets you keep your name out of any public acknowledgment of your gift. Read the payment privacy notice.
Applying to enroll
The enrollment application collects your name, your email address and a username for your CCA account. Your date of birth, phone number, postal address, preferred name and pronouns are optional. It also records technical signals used to detect abuse, such as your IP address. CCA uses this to review your application, to contact you about it, to prevent fraud and, if you are approved, to create your account.
Some details are checked by outside services, for example to confirm that an email address or postal address is valid. Each of those services receives only the single detail it is asked to check.
Applications that are started but never submitted are deleted after 24 hours. Submitted applications are kept for 12 months after they are approved or rejected, and records of how you used the application service are kept for 24 months.
Participants
To run its programs, CCA keeps records about each participant: contact details, education and career history, certifications, the services they use and the equipment they borrow. Some information is optional, and participants decide whether to give it.
CCA does not sell participant data, and it does not use it for marketing or advertising. Personal information is not shared with outside organizations except where security, access control or the law requires it.
Reports to funders use only aggregate, de-identified figures, such as the share of participants who earned a certification in a year. They never identify individual participants.
Inside CCA, who can see personal information depends on their role, and every time someone views it on our platform, the view is logged.
CCA also publishes a list of the companies it has authorized to process participant data on its behalf, and what each one does.
Confidential addresses
Participants enrolled in a state address confidentiality program can use their substitute address with CCA, and their home address is not stored in their general participant record. Where CCA needs to know where borrowed equipment is kept, that location is stored separately and only staff who need it can see it.
Questions and requests
